Lab-Partners has broad and in-depth expert knowledge of the design and set-up of laboratories. The knowledge and skills cover all relevant areas: content, regulations, accreditation, technology, ICT, logistics, facilities, organisation, etc. This makes Lab-Partners the ideal project partner for optimising, renewing and building or expanding laboratories.

Lab-Partners is there for all suppliers of integral diagnostics, including medical laboratories of hospitals, diagnostic centres and thrombosis services, but also suppliers of complete solutions for laboratories.

Marty de Graaf

Marty de Graaf is van alle, in elk geval van veel markten thuis.  Hij is een echte allrounder. Geboren en getogen in een Spakenburgs vissersgeslacht had hij zomaar visserman kunnen worden. Maar op de middelbare school bleek hij goed in scheikunde. Dus belandde hij op Laboratoriumschool in Amersfoort, met een voorkeur voor klinische chemie.  

Na afronding van zijn studie werkte hij bij verschillende laboratoria in uiteenlopende functies: analist en, sectiehoofd hematologie, kwaliteitsfunctionaris, laboratorium manager en projectleider. En passant haalde hij in zijn schaarse vrije tijd zijn doctoraal bedrijfskunde op Nyenrode, de ideale aanvulling voor zijn volgende interim-klus als laboratorium manager: de robotisering van een gerenommeerd huisartsenlaboratorium.  

In 2011 begon Marty voor zichzelf, met behoud van zijn relaties en verdere uitbreiding van zijn portfolio met de accreditatie als erkend auditor bij de Raad voor Accreditatie. Sinds 2019 vormt hij samen met zijn compagnon Niels van Berkum het complementaire motorblok van Lab-Partners. Marty voor de strategische en tactische advisering en de sales, Niels voor het projectmanagement en de implementatie. Met als meest tot de verbeelding sprekende coproductie tot nu toe het in opdracht van de rijksoverheid in recordtijd uit het niets bouwen van het Hudsonlaboratorium, het grootschalige coronalaboratorium waar tijdens het hoogtepunt van de pandemie meer dan 30.000 samples per dag konden worden geanalyseerd.

Niels van Berkum

Hovenier, maritiem technicus, bouwkundige. 

Medeoprichter Niels van Berkum (52) is met zijn veelzijdige achtergrond en ervaring met recht een generalist. Zo was hij jarenlang verantwoordelijk voor de bouw en inrichting van een reeks eerstelijns gezondheidscentra verspreid over het land. En voor de renovatie annex optimalisatie van een groot diagnostisch centrum. Van begin af aan tot en met de oplevering en de installatie van de analyseapparatuur. Bij de bouw van het Hudsonlaboratorium, nam hij ook de benodigde vergunningaanvragen voor het grootschalige coronalaboratorium voor zijn rekening. 

Niels is hands-on en zorgt dat, ondanks de onvermijdelijke hobbels, op tijd geleverd wordt wat afgesproken is. Desnoods steekt hij ook zelf de handen uit de mouwen. Afspraak is afspraak. Zijn kracht is om op basis van een realistische planning het plan van aanpak stipt uit te voeren. Door de betrokken partijen en hun medewerkers aan te sturen, te begeleiden én te motiveren. Niets mooier dan een project met elkaar tot een goed eind brengen. Daaruit put hij zijn intrinsieke motivatie.

Menno de Jong

Menno is met zijn 25 jaren één van de jongste teamleden van Lab-Partners. Desondanks heeft hij zijn sporen al verdiend in het vakgebied. Nog tijdens zijn afstuderen aan de opleiding Life Sciences (biologie en medisch laboratoriumonderzoek) aan de Hogeschool Utrecht brak de coronapandemie uit. 

Hij kon meteen aan de slag bij het in aanbouw zijnde Hudsonlab, het grootschalige laboratorium voor het uitvoeren van PCR-testen, dat op verzoek van het ministerie van VWS met stoom en kokend water werd opgezet. In eerste instantie als inkoper en voorraadbeheerder, later als assistent-lab manager bij het opschalen van het laboratorium.  Een unieke kans om versneld de kneepjes van het vak te leren. Andere succesvolle implementatie- en bouwprojecten volgden.  

Met zijn doortastendheid, flexibiliteit en leergierigheid is Menno een volwaardig en veelzijdig lid van het team van Lab-Partners. Hij laat zich graag om een boodschap sturen, nationaal en internationaal.

Albertina de Graaf- Koelewijn

Albertina is het levende bewijs van een geëmancipeerde, zelfstandige vrouw. Privé en zaken houdt zij strikt gescheiden. Zij staat naast, achter en, zo nodig, vóór haar partner. En evenzeer voor de andere medewerkers van Lab-Partners. Zonder aanziens des persoons.

Als administrateur, controller en financieel geweten ineen bestiert zij de financiën van het bedrijf accuraat en met straffe hand, van de salarisadministratie en de belastingaangiftes tot de bewaking van de projecten en het opstellen van de kwartaal- en jaarcijfers. Overzicht, inzicht en discipline zijn haar op het lijf geschreven.

Emma de Graaf

Voor een team waarvan de leden vaak onderweg of op locatie zijn, is een degelijke thuisbasis onmisbaar. Emma de Graaf (23) voorziet daarin. Als office manager staat zij de collega’s vanuit het virtuele hoofdkantoor op allerlei terreinen met raad en daad terzijde. Van IT tot het bijhouden van licenties, HR en communicatie. Daarnaast zorgt zij voor een goede bereikbaarheid van Lab-Partners. 

Als projectassistente ondersteunt ze de vele projecten van Lab-Partners. Het opstellen en beheren van planningen, projectplannen en rapporten. Eveneens plant en coördineert ze vergaderingen.

Emma houdt van orde en structuur. De vaardigheden, opgedaan tijdens haar studie aviation komen daarbij goed van pas.

Bernadette Goossens

Angry young men and women zijn onmisbaar voor een onderneming die succesvol wil opereren in een dynamische en innovatieve bedrijfstak. Maar kennis en kunde op basis van jarenlange ervaring zijn minstens zo belangrijk.  

Bernadette Goossens (64) werkte maar liefst 45 jaar als analiste, leidinggevende en opleider bij een gerenommeerd medisch laboratorium annex diagnostisch centrum, voordat zij overstapte naar Lab-Partners. Zij kan bij wijze van spreken de analyses handmatig uitvoeren als de hightech apparatuur uitvalt. 

Bernadette is bij Lab-Partners verantwoordelijk voor het opleiden en trainen van préanalisten bij het opstarten van volautomatische laboratoriumstraten en het introduceren en stroomlijnen van werkprocessen. Mensen opleiden en begeleiden met oog voor hun individuele talenten is haar passie.  

Momenteel werkt Bernadette samen met Beckman Coulter (een leverancier van laboratorium-apparatuur) aan de modernisering van een groot ziekenhuislaboratorium in Cork, Ierland. Erg leuk en leerzaam om in een andere cultuur kennis en ervaring met collega’s te delen en uit te wisselen.

Marty de Graaf

Marty de Graaf is at home on all, or at least many, markets. He is a true all-rounder. Born and raised in a Spakenburg fishing family, he could just as easily have become a fisherman. But in secondary school, he turned out to be good at chemistry. So he ended up at the laboratory school in Amersfoort, with a preference for clinical chemistry.

After completing his studies, he worked at various laboratories in various positions: analyst, haematology section head, quality officer, laboratory manager and project leader. And, in his spare time, he earned his doctorate in business administration at Nyenrode, the ideal complement for his next interim job as laboratory manager: the robotisation of a renowned GP laboratory.

In 2011, Marty started for himself, maintaining his relationships and further expanding his portfolio with the accreditation as a recognised auditor with the Accreditation Council. Since 2019, he and his associate Niels van Berkum have formed the complementary engine of Lab-Partners. Marty for strategic and tactical consulting and sales, and Niels for project management and implementation. With the most imaginative co-production to date being the building of the Hudson Laboratory, the large-scale Corona laboratory where more than 30,000 samples per day could be analysed during the height of the pandemic, commissioned by the central government in record time.

Niels van Berkum

Gardener, marine technician, structural engineer.

With his versatile background and experience, co-founder Niels van Berkum (52) is rightly a generalist. For many years, for instance, he was responsible for the construction and design of a series of primary healthcare centres spread across the country. And for the renovation and optimisation of a large diagnostic centre. From start to finish and the installation of analytical equipment. When building the Hudson Laboratory, he also took care of the necessary permit applications for the large-scale coronal laboratory.

Niels is hands-on and ensures that, despite the inevitable bumps, what has been agreed is delivered on time. If necessary, he also rolls up his own sleeves. A deal is a deal. His strength is to execute the action plan punctually on the basis of realistic planning. By directing, guiding and motivating the parties involved and their employees. Nothing beats bringing a project to a successful conclusion together. This is where he draws his intrinsic motivation.

Menno de Jong

At 25 years old, Menno is one of Lab-Partners’ youngest team members. Nevertheless, he has already made his mark in the field. During his graduation from the Life Sciences course at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences, the Corona pandemic broke out.

He could immediately start working at the under construction Hudsonlab, the large-scale PCR testing laboratory set up at the request of the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. Initially as a buyer and inventory manager, and later as assistant lab manager as the lab scaled up. A unique opportunity to learn the tricks of the trade at an accelerated pace. Other successful implementation and construction projects followed.

With his thoroughness, flexibility and eagerness to learn, Menno is a full and versatile member of the Lab-Partners team.

Albertina de Graaf- Koelewijn

Albertina is living proof of an emancipated, independent woman. She keeps private and business strictly separate. She stands beside, behind and, if necessary, in front of her partner. And equally for the other employees of Lab-Partners. Without regard to persons.

As an administrator, controller and financial conscience in one, she manages the company’s finances accurately and with a firm hand, from payroll and tax returns to monitoring projects and preparing the quarterly and annual figures. Overview, insight and discipline are right up her street.

Emma de Graaf

For a team whose members are often on the road or on location, a solid home base is indispensable. Emma de Graaf (23) provides just that. As office manager, she advises and assists colleagues from the virtual head office in all kinds of areas. From IT to keeping track of licences, HR and communication. She also makes sure Lab-Partners is easily accessible.

As a project assistant, she supports Lab-Partners’ many projects. Setting up and managing schedules, project plans and reports. She also plans and coordinates meetings.

Emma likes order and structure. The skills gained during her aviation studies come in handy.

Bernadette Goossens

Angry young men and women are indispensable for a company that wants to operate successfully in a dynamic and innovative industry. But knowledge and skills based on years of experience are at least as important.

Bernadette Goossens (64) has worked for no less than 45 years as an analyst, manager and trainer at a renowned medical laboratory cum diagnostic centre, before she switched to Lab-Partners. She can carry out analyses manually, so to speak, when the high-tech equipment fails.

At Lab-Partners, Bernadette is responsible for educating and training analysts in starting up fully automated laboratory lines and introducing and streamlining work processes. Training and guiding people with an eye for their individual talents is her passion.

Bernadette is currently working with Beckman Coulter (a laboratory equipment supplier) on the modernisation of a large hospital laboratory in Cork, Ireland. Very fun and educational to share and exchange knowledge and experience with colleagues in a different culture.
