Niels van Berkum
Technical Project Manager, Co-founder
Menno de Jong
Technical Project Manager
Marc van den Berge
Project Manager
Marty de Graaf is at home on all, or at least many, markets. He is a true all-rounder. Born and raised in a Spakenburg fishing family, he could just as easily have become a fisherman. But in secondary school, he turned out to be good at chemistry. So he ended up at the laboratory school in Amersfoort, with a preference for clinical chemistry.
After completing his studies, he worked at various laboratories in various positions: analyst, haematology section head, quality officer, laboratory manager and project leader. And, in his spare time, he earned his doctorate in business administration at Nyenrode, the ideal complement for his next interim job as laboratory manager: the robotisation of a renowned GP laboratory.
In 2011, Marty started for himself, maintaining his relationships and further expanding his portfolio with the accreditation as a recognised auditor with the Accreditation Council. Since 2019, he and his associate Niels van Berkum have formed the complementary engine of Lab-Partners. Marty for strategic and tactical consulting and sales, and Niels for project management and implementation. With the most imaginative co-production to date being the building of the Hudson Laboratory, the large-scale Corona laboratory where more than 30,000 samples per day could be analysed during the height of the pandemic, was commissioned by the central government in record time. Over the past few years, he has led several complex programs at home and abroad, including a program to transition five laboratories in NHS hospitals in London.
Menno is one of Lab-Partners’ youngest team members. Nevertheless, he has already earned his marks. Since starting at Lab-Partners, he has developed into an experienced project manager. With his background in Life Sciences (biological and medical laboratory research) and his involvement in setting up the Hudson Lab, Menno knows better than anyone how technical, logistical and content aspects come together in complex laboratory environments.
Meanwhile, Menno has successfully supervised several implementation projects, where his responsibilities included coordinating with suppliers, making sliding plans in AutoCAD, supervising conversion work and monitoring the planning.
With his thoroughness, precision and eagerness to learn, Menno is a full and versatile member of the Lab-Partners team. He can be flexibly deployed on national and international projects.
After studying Biology at Utrecht University (majoring in molecular biology and genetics), Marc started in a high-volume Covid lab as an analyst. Within a short time, Marc advanced to the role of coordinator, where he successfully supervised several validation projects. After the closure of the Covid lab, Marc started working in the Medical Microbiology department of a diagnostic lab to supervise and/or carry out validations and implementations of new molecular tests. He also has experience in process optimisation and quality projects.
At Lab-Partners, Marc puts his expertise to use as a project manager. With an analytical and precise approach, he likes to dive deep into complex issues while effortlessly switching to hands-on work. His eagerness to learn, structured approach and strong coordination skills make him a valuable force within our team.
For a team whose members are often on the road or on location, a solid home base is indispensable. Emma de Graaf provides just that. As office manager, she advises and assists colleagues in all kinds of areas. From IT to keeping track of licences, HR and communication. She also makes sure Lab-Partners is easily accessible.
As a project assistant, she supports Lab-Partners’ many projects. Drafting and managing project plans and reports. She also plans and coordinates meetings. Emma also has knowledge of ISO 15189 and supports in quality management.
Emma likes order and structure. The skills gained during her aviation studies come in handy.
Angry young men and women are indispensable for a company that wants to operate successfully in a dynamic and innovative industry. But knowledge and skills based on years of experience are at least as important.
Bernadette Goossens has worked for no less than 45 years as an analyst, manager and trainer at a renowned medical laboratory cum diagnostic centre, before she switched to Lab-Partners.

Albertina is an indispensable force within Lab-Partners. She stands beside, behind and – when the situation demands it – even in front of her partner Marty. With this versatile attitude, she offers stable support without making any distinction between colleagues.
As the administrator, controller and financial conscience of the organisation, Albertina manages the entire financial household with precision. From invoicing and bookkeeping to sales tax returns, she knows how to keep every figure in perfect balance. In addition, she closely monitors the progress of projects and ensures that reliable quarterly and annual figures are prepared. With her expertise, she makes an indispensable contribution to achieving both structural growth and sustainable stability within the organisation.
